The therapeutic uses and side effects of digoxin, digitoxin, nitroprusside, and nitroglycerin
are discussed. Methods of serum measurement are not readily available for all these
drugs, and a number of factors may influence serum concentrations. The efficacy of
monitoring serum levels of digitalis and the vasoactive drugs is explored.
