Nutritional Assessment in Total Parenteral Nutrition

      Although total parenteral nutrition can be life-saving, it may also create metabolic disarray and induce sepsis in the patient. Nutritional assessment can be a significant factor in the selection of patients to receive TPN, the choice of nutrient solution, the monitoring of nutrient delivery, and the decision to discontinue TPN.
