Triglyceride Measurement and Its Relationship to Heart Disease

This paper is only available as a PDF. To read, Please Download here.
The role of trigylcerides in atherosclerosis remains controversial, although it may be important in certain population subgroups. The triglyceride-rich lipoproteins play an important role in lipid metabolism. Measurement of plasma triglycerides is important for routine lipid-ather-osclerosis risk assignment. Significantly more attention needs to be focused on standardization of triglyceride measurements in clinical laboratories.
