      Certain serum autoantibodies serve as useful diagnostic markers in autoimmune liver diseases (AiLD): however, the etiology and pathogenesis remain unknown. This article presents synopses of major AiLD, except for drug related immune hepatitis, and concentrates on the autoantibodies that characterize these disorders.
