Tubulocystic Carcinoma, Mucinous Tubular and Spindle Cell Carcinoma, and Other Recently Described Rare Renal Tumors

Fifty years ago, the list of known renal tumors was short; it included only renal adenocarcinoma, renal adenoma, and a few “rare renal tumors.” The list has grown considerably since then, particularly in the past 10 to 15 years, as useful adjunctive diagnostic techniques have aided in distinguishing the various types of renal neoplasms from one another. In this article, we review several uncommon renal neoplasms that have been characterized recently.
